VIETNAM’S ACHIEVEMENTS
At the International Final of the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2025, held in Athens, Greece, the Vietnamese National Team made a remarkable mark on the global stage, proudly ranking TOP 2 overall among 130 contestants from 28 countries and territories.
Vietnam Team’s Medal Achievements:

These medals represent far more than awards. They are a powerful testament to the critical thinking, economic analytical skills, and international competitiveness of Vietnamese students on the global stage.
The journey to the global stage officially continues. From August 10–14, 2026, the International Final Round of the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) 2026 will take place at the prestigious International Olympic Academy in Athens, Greece – the historic birthplace of the Olympic Games.
Representing Vietnam at IEO 2026 are five outstanding students: Kiet Le Gia Duc, Anh Phan, Bao Ngan Hoang, Ha Nam Bach Nguyen, Viet Phuoc Tran.

Preliminary Round
High School Division

- Eligibility: High School – Grade 10 – 12
- Format: Individual, 50 Multiple-choice Questions, 80 minutes, English
Middle School Division
- Date: 26th November, 2026
- Time: 16:00 – 16:50(GMT +7, Vietnam Time)
- Form: Online (Home-based, On-campus)
- Eligibility: Secondary School – Grade 7-9
- Format: Individual, 25 Multiple-choice Questions, 50 minutes, English
Award
Individual Award
• National Honor Award: National Top 10%
• High Distinction: National Top 20%
• Distinction: National Top 30%
• Outstanding Award: National Top 45%
• Credit Award: National Top 75%
*Advancement criteria:
1. All award recipients are eligible to advance to the Asia Round
2. Top 5 candidates in the Preliminary Round will be invited to the Global Round.
Team Award
The top 5 students’ scores will be accumulated as the total score of the school. Schools with less than 5 participants will not be involved in the ranking.
• Gold: National Top 15%
• Silver: National Top 30%
• Bronze: National Top 45%
• Credit Award: National Top 75%
*The Team Award will be presented to both the school and the individual participants.
*All participants will receive a digital participation certificate, while award winners will receive corresponding award certificates.
Asia Round
- Date: January, 2027
- Location: Offline, TBC
- Divisions: Middle School / High School Division, 3–5 participants per group (all divisions compete simultaneously but are ranked separately)
- Eligibility: All award winners from the Preliminary Round are eligible to advance to the Asia Round
Global Round
- Date: August 2027 (TBC)
- Location: TBC
- Eligibility: By invitation only, limited to five top national/regional representatives
