INTRODUCTION

Established in 1996, the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) is the largest mathematics assessment organization in the UK, providing a wide range of nationally-accredited mathematics assessments to over 700,000 students in more than 6,000 schools each year.

Over the last twelve years, the Mathematical Olympiad for Girls (MOG) has become our most popular Olympiad, with entries reaching nearly 5,000 in 2024. Starting in 2025, this new competition, the Mathematical Competition for Girls (MCG) will run alongside MOG, allowing even more girls to engage in mathematical problem solving. The questions for the MCG will be similar in style and level to the MOG answer-only questions, with some questions shared between the two papers.

* Please note: students cannot sit both the MCG and MOG.

Exam Date: Sep. 23, 2026 (Wed.) – 90 mins

Eligibility: Female students from Grade 10-12/ Year 11-13

Exam format:

  • Online-based
  • Students will read the exam questions and put their answers on examination platform.

Time: 16:00-17:30 (GMT+7, VN Time)

SCORING RULES

  • A total of 50 marks can be achieved in the MCG
  • Each question carries 10 marks distributed across several parts
  • Specific incorrect answers may be awarded partial marks
  • There are no negative marks for incorrect answers

AWARDS

  • The top 25% of students will receive a Certificate of Distinction and the next 40% a Certificate of Merit.
  • Students who score below the Merit threshold will receive a Certificate of Participation.
