Introduction
The International Chemistry Quiz (ICQ) is hosted by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI), an organization established in 1917 that represents and supports the chemistry community in Australia. With over 4,000 members nationwide, RACI plays a central role in advocating for chemistry in education, industry, public engagement, and government policy by launching various educational initiatives.
Launched in 1982, the ICQ has grown into a prominent global competition, attracting more than 100,000 students from 21 countries and regions each year. The quiz is designed not to assess curriculum knowledge directly. While some content may align with the Australian Curriculum, the quiz primarily aims to engage students and encourage chemical thinking. It includes questions that require the application of existing knowledge to new contexts and scenarios, often based on information provided within the questions themselves. Some questions are intentionally more challenging to stretch high-achieving students.
The ICQ is divided into six levels, catering to students from Grades 7 to 12, and covers a broad range of topics such as:

Competition Information
Time: August 08, 2025 (17:00 pm – Hong Kong time)
Exam format: Online at home with 2 devices (test-taking device and monitoring device)
Format: Individual exam, 30 multiple choice questions
Language: English
Participants: Students in grades 7-12
Deadline: July 29, 2025

Awards
Perfect Score：Students who obtain a perfect score receive a Label Pin
Excellence: Top 1%
High Distinction: Top 10%
Distinction: Top 25%
Credit: Top 40%
Awards will be determined by class rank (division)
Students who do not receive an award will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Upon receiving confirmation from the organizing committee, the school sends a copy of the payment receipt for the exam fee to the bank as instructed.
