INTRODUCTION
ASEAN Youth Camp 2026 will be held this summer at Shanghai Jiao Tong University’s Campus, offering students aged 14–18 a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of modern technology, innovation, and leadership.
During the program, participants will engage in hands-on workshops, project-based learning, and cross-cultural exchange activities designed to develop global competencies and inspire creative thinking.
Guided by experienced professors, students will enhance their understanding of AI, data science, and sustainable development, while immersing themselves in the vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere of Shanghai – one of Asia’s most dynamic cities.
Chinese Language & Cultural Immersion
Cultural & Language Lectures
Gain insights into the Chinese language, traditions, and the transformation from imperial times to modern China.
Calligraphy & Lantern Workshop
Experience calligraphy, create traditional lanterns, and design Fu character stickers symbolizing good fortune.
NETWORKING SESSION WITH SJTU
Connect with SJTU Vietnamese scholarship students and learn about their study experiences and life in China.
Theme practice
Electric Vehicle Company Visit
Students will take part in an exclusive company visit to at least one of leading electric vehicle enterprises – NIO, TESLA, or IM Motors – where innovation drives every journey.
During this experience, participants will explore how these pioneering companies combine cutting-edge design, advanced battery technologies, smart connectivity, and autonomous driving systems to redefine sustainable mobility. Through interactive sessions and guided tours, students will gain valuable insights into research and development, green technology, and the integration of artificial intelligence in modern transportation – discovering how innovation is shaping the future of global mobility.
Discover Shanghai Jiao Tong University
– Xuhui & Minhang Campuses
Students will explore both the historic Xuhui Campus and the modern Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University – two landmarks that showcase the university’s proud heritage and spirit of innovation.
At Xuhui Campus, participants will experience the charm of SJTU’s original site, where classical architecture and century-old buildings reflect its academic legacy.
At Minhang Campus, the university’s main hub for teaching and research, students will discover how tradition meets technology through world-class labs, green spaces, and a vibrant student community. This tour offers an inspiring glimpse into university life in China, blending culture, history, and innovation.
Shanghai City Tour – Where Culture Meets Innovation
Students will visit the Shanghai Natural History Museum, exploring fascinating exhibits on nature and science, and enjoy the charm of Yu Garden at night, glowing with traditional architecture and lanterns.
The tour continues to the Shanghai Museum East Building, showcasing China’s rich cultural heritage, and the Shanghai Tower, where students will ascend to the 128th floor to admire panoramic city views and learn about the Giant Damper engineering marvel. This city tour offers a perfect mix of culture, creativity, and innovation – an unforgettable highlight of the Asean Youth Camp experience.
Advancement system
Application
- Includes: lectures, activities, business visits, cultural exploration entry tickets, learning materials, certificate, accommodation, daily meals (SJTU canteen and International buffet dinner at Jinmao Tower ON56), local transportation and goody bag.
- Excludes: travel visa, personal expenses, international transportation costs to and from Shanghai, international insurance.
Requirements:
- English language level equivalent to IELTS level 6.0 or TOEFL 80
- Recommendation letter from your teacher as proof of English proficiency, or a phone/online interview with Soon Cheng
- Priority for awarded students from Soon Cheng competition assessment
