HCBC 2026: Vietnamese Delegation Advances to the Global Challenge at Harvard University
Following an inspiring introduction to Harvard’s academic environment, the Vietnamese delegation has officially entered the most intensive phase of the Harvard Crimson Business Competition (HCBC) 2026. As the Global Challenge begins, students are transforming innovative ideas into practical business solutions while preparing to present on one of the world’s most prestigious academic stages.
Tackling Global Challenges Through AI
This year’s competition centers on the theme “AI-Driven Sustainable Development,” challenging teams to develop AI-powered startup solutions that address pressing global issues, including climate change, clean energy, water resource management, sustainable transportation, food systems, and biodiversity conservation.
Throughout the challenge, students have collaborated to design comprehensive business models that combine innovation, technological advancement, and real-world feasibility. The experience encourages participants not only to think like entrepreneurs but also to develop solutions capable of creating meaningful social impact.
Learning from Industry Experts and Global Leaders
HCBC 2026 features a series of workshops and expert-led sessions designed to strengthen students’ entrepreneurial and presentation skills.
Participants explored essential topics such as building compelling Shark Tank-style pitches, mastering storytelling techniques, and delivering presentations with confidence and authenticity. These sessions have equipped students with practical tools to effectively communicate innovative ideas to judges and industry professionals.
A key highlight of the program was the opportunity to engage with experts from Amazon Web Services (AWS), Harvard Innovation Labs, and leading universities, who shared valuable insights into artificial intelligence, technology ethics, and the growing role of AI in advancing sustainable development.
Students also attended an inspiring session led by Dr. David H. Rosmarin of Harvard Medical School, who discussed strategies for managing pressure, overcoming anxiety, and transforming challenges into opportunities for personal growth.
Refining Ideas Through Mentorship
One of the most impactful components of HCBC is the Office Hours mentoring sessions, where each team receives direct feedback from experienced mentors. Participants refined every aspect of their business models—from market feasibility and growth strategies to technological innovation and long-term social impact.
Beyond formal mentoring, teams dedicated countless hours to revising presentations, improving their pitch decks, and rehearsing their final presentations. This continuous process of collaboration and refinement has strengthened both their projects and their teamwork.
Learning from Industry Experts and Global Leaders
Alongside the intensive academic program, students had the opportunity to explore Harvard University’s iconic campus, visiting landmarks such as Harvard Yard, Widener Library, and Memorial Hall. These experiences offered a deeper appreciation of one of the world’s most distinguished academic institutions while creating lasting memories beyond the competition itself.
