CCO 2026: Celebrating Vietnamese Students’ Outstanding Achievements in Chemistry

Congratulations to Vietnam’s young Chemistry talents at CCO 2026
GeniusStar proudly celebrates the four Vietnamese students recognized at the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO) 2026.

The Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO) 2026 has recognized four Vietnamese students for their outstanding academic performance, marking another proud milestone for young talents pursuing excellence in Chemistry. With one Silver Award, two Bronze Awards and one Merit Award, these achievements demonstrate the students’ strong subject knowledge, analytical thinking and determination to take on challenging academic opportunities at an international level.

Organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), the CCO is an advanced-level competition designed for students who have demonstrated excellent performance in the Canadian Chemistry Contest (CCC). As a prestigious academic challenge, it requires participants to apply in-depth Chemistry knowledge, tackle complex problems and demonstrate strong scientific reasoning.

GeniusStar is proud to celebrate the Vietnamese students whose dedication and academic abilities have earned them recognition at CCO 2026.

Vietnamese Students Earn Four Awards at CCO 2026

The results of CCO 2026 highlight the impressive capabilities of Vietnamese students from specialized and secondary schools across the country. Competing in an advanced academic environment, these students have demonstrated not only a solid understanding of Chemistry but also the ability to approach demanding scientific challenges with confidence and determination.

The four Vietnamese students recognized at this year’s competition are:

  • Silver Award: Phan Nguyen My Nhi (Grade 11/Year 12 – Le Quy Don High School)
  • Bronze Award: Phan Vinh Khang (Grade 12/Year 13 – Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted)
  • Bronze Award: Tran Tuan Thành (Grade 11/Year 12 – HUS High School for Gifted Students)
  • Merit Award: Nguyen Doan Nguyen (Grade 10/Year 11 – Newton Grammar School)

These results reflect the students’ commitment to academic development and their ability to perform in a demanding international Chemistry competition. Each award represents an important achievement in their learning journey, while also showcasing the growing presence of Vietnamese students in global academic arenas.

What Is the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO)?

The Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO) is an advanced Chemistry competition organized by the Chemical Institute of Canada (CIC), an academic organization dedicated to the development and advancement of Chemistry. The competition provides an opportunity for academically talented students to demonstrate their scientific knowledge and problem-solving abilities through challenging questions that require a deeper understanding of the subject.

Unlike introductory academic assessments, CCO focuses on more advanced Chemistry concepts and analytical approaches. Participants are expected to go beyond memorizing theories and formulas, applying their knowledge to unfamiliar situations and developing logical solutions to complex problems. This makes the competition a valuable challenge for students who are passionate about Chemistry and interested in exploring the subject at a higher academic level.

As a progression opportunity for students who achieve excellent results in the Canadian Chemistry Contest (CCC), CCOoffers a pathway for young learners to further challenge themselves and gain experience in an international academic setting.

CCO Camp: Taking the Next Step in the International Academic Journey

Beyond their achievements in the competition, high-performing students at CCO 2026 have also earned the opportunity to attend CCO Camp. This marks an exciting next step in their academic journey, allowing them to explore Chemistry through experiences that extend beyond conventional classroom learning.

At CCO Camp, students have the opportunity to exchange academic knowledge, participate in advanced laboratory practice and connect with an international community of young people who share a passion for science. These experiences can help participants deepen their understanding of Chemistry while becoming more familiar with scientific approaches and practical applications.

More importantly, the camp provides an environment where students can learn from one another, broaden their perspectives and build connections with peers who share similar academic interests. For young talents aspiring to pursue science in the future, such opportunities can become meaningful milestones in their personal and academic development.

Inspiring the Next Generation of Young Scientists

Achievements at CCO 2026 are more than a recognition of academic excellence; they also reflect the curiosity, perseverance and determination that drive students to explore the world of science. Tackling advanced Chemistry problems requires not only a strong theoretical foundation but also patience, critical thinking and the willingness to approach unfamiliar challenges.

GeniusStar warmly congratulates Phan Nguyen My Nhi, Phan Vinh Khang, Tran Tuan Thành and Nguyen Doan Nguyen on their outstanding results at the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad 2026. Their achievements are a source of pride and an inspiration for other students who aspire to pursue academic excellence and participate in international competitions.

May these accomplishments encourage the students to continue nurturing their passion for Chemistry, expanding their knowledge and embracing new challenges on their journey toward becoming the next generation of scientific talents.
