From laboratory experiments to international collaboration, ICQ Asia Camp 2026 provided young chemistry enthusiasts with an immersive learning experience beyond the classroom.
Shanghai, China – ICQ Asia Camp 2026 officially concluded after five days of immersive scientific exploration, bringing together outstanding young chemistry enthusiasts from across Asia. Among them was Phan Thien Bao from Vietnam, who joined the programme alongside international participants to experience hands-on laboratory learning, scientific collaboration, and cultural exchange.
A Journey Begins with Curiosity
The camp commenced with the Opening Ceremony, where students met their mentors and fellow participants before taking part in the Laboratory Safety Escape Room. Through this interactive challenge, laboratory safety became an engaging team-based experience, encouraging participants to think critically while applying essential safety principles in a fun and practical setting.
Students then began their first laboratory session, exploring Identifying Bonding Types, marking the start of an exciting journey into experimental chemistry.
Exploring Chemistry Through Hands-on Learning
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in a diverse series of laboratory experiments covering both fundamental concepts and advanced analytical techniques. The curriculum included Separation Techniques, pH Indicators and Acid–Base Chemistry, Metal Reactivity Series Investigation, Making Solutions and Spectrophotometry, Microscale Titrations, Calorimetry – Energy in Food, and concluded with the fascinating Tollens’ Silver Mirror Reaction.
Each experiment encouraged students to observe carefully, analyse scientific evidence, and connect theoretical knowledge with real laboratory practice. Rather than simply following procedures, participants developed scientific reasoning, experimental precision, and confidence through active exploration.
